2026 Equality Insights UK Road Trip

Exploring inclusive practice within military charities

This New Year marks the start of our amazing (and much anticipated) journey around the country to meet with Military Charities of all shapes and sizes. We’ll be sharing knowledge and insights from across the sector and exploring how we can all become more inclusive and culturally sensitive - better equipped to meet the needs of culturally-diverse armed force communities.

From Lyneham to London (via Edinburgh)

We’re stopping off at some great venues along the way, running a series of connected and cumulative workshops to build and co-develop a roadmap to shape and sustain cultures of trust and respect. We’ll be calling at:

  • REME Museum, Lyneham (20 January 2026)

  • Colwyn Leisure Centre, Colwyn Bay (16 February 2026)

  • The Milner York (24 March 2026)

  • Edinburgh Training & Conference Venue (21 April 2026)

  • National Memorial Arboretum, Alrewas, Staffordshire (13 May 2026)

  • Royal Hospital Chelsea (23 June 2026)

We will be bringing together diverse perspectives and insights from charities and beneficiary groups, both large and small, to achieve FIVE key goals:

  1. Review organisational approaches and assess the effectiveness of current practice.

  2. Co-develop a strategic roadmap to enhance cultural awareness and inclusive service delivery.

  3. Strengthen cultures of trust, respect, and belonging across teams and service users.

  4. Leverage shared insights to guide long-term, evidence-informed, decision making.

  5. Build an understanding of the value of lived experience, the power of co-development, and the importance of evaluating the impact of your actions.

Join us along the way

These workshops are all free to attend (and include refreshments and lunch). Booking your place is essential. You can do this through our Eventbrite page.

We look forward to meeting you!

This road trip forms part of the ‘Service Charities Equality Insights Programme’ (SCEIP), funded by the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust.
